Easy Recipes

Omelet with leek (or spinach) – Easy Recipe

This omelet is a great idea for brunch or Sunday breakfast but can also be served as lunch with a healthy salad on the side.

Ingredients (serves 4):
1 kg of leek, 8 eggs, salt, pepper, 3 tablespoons of butter, ½ teaspoon of sugar, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice.
Mode of preparation:
cut off the green parts of the leek. Take the rest and wash thoroughly. First cut the vegetable lengthwise and then chop into small slices. Melt 1.5 tablespoon of butter in a pan, put in the leek and fry for a while. Mind you, stirring everything continuously is important. Add salt, sugar, lemon juice and pepper. Simmer for around 20 minutes and then remove from the heat. Meanwhile beat the eggs in a bowl with a bit of salt and pepper and then fold them into the leeks. Mix everything well. Melt the rest of the butter in a large frying pan, pour the whole egg and leek mixture, put the lid on the pan and fry for about 10 minutes on medium heat. After this time turn the omelet over and fry for another 5-7 minutes. Serve hot, cut into triangles. Tastes good with savory sauce.

Fruit Crumble Recipe

The desert is so easy to prepare, it’s almost absurd and still everyone loves it! What is more you can use practically any fruit for it, just remember that it’s much better with fresh fruit.

Ingredients (serving 6):
The crumble: 225g of plain flour, 115g of butter, 90g of sugar, pinch of salt.
Fruit: up to 0.5 kg of fresh fruit, 3 tablespoons of sugar.

Mode of preparation:
take all the crumble ingredients and mix them in a food processor until they resemble fine breadcrumbs (you can also do this by hand simply rubbing the mixture). Wash and prepare the fruit. Put it into a shallow ovenproof serving dish and sprinkle with the 3 tablespoons of sugar. If you’re preparing a raspberry or apple crumble you might want to add a bit of cinnamon at this stage. Spread the crumble mix over the prepared fruit. Shake the dish, but just a bit. Bake the thing in an oven at about 200 degrees C for around 30 minutes or simply until the whole top is of a golden colour. If the crumble should start to get too dark round the sides, just turn the oven down a bit. You can enjoy the crumble both hot or cold. It goes great with whipped cream or ice-cream.
